How does disappearance document itself?

Ice as its own lens. While melting, the body of the ice exposes cyanotypes on the fabric beneath. The length of each panel is the duration of a melt.

Sound of breaking ice, recorded on-site at the glacier, transferred back onto itself as mechanical impulse. The feedback of its own echo.
Developed in collaboration with Hüttinger Interactive Exhibitions as part of the Artist in Factory programme.

Folding canisters hold meltwater from 3D-scanned ice blocks. Collected from different glaciers over five years. The attempt of an archive, and simultaneously its impossibility.

A system built to contain what cannot be contained. The ice follows its own logic. It melts on its own schedule, exposes what it exposes, reacts with light, grows algae, evaporates and stops when it stops.
